As we enter Women’s History Month and approach International Women’s Day (March 8th), we honor the resilience, strength, and often unspoken stress that women carry.
From juggling careers and family responsibilities to navigating societal expectations, the weight of chronic stress can show up in subtle but powerful ways.
If you’ve felt that tension in your chest… or the constant hum of anxiety in the background… this is your invitation to pause and reset.
Reiki — a gentle energy practice — can help guide you back to calm.
What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing practice that channels life force energy to support balance, relaxation, and inner calm.
Especially for women who manage multiple roles, Reiki offers a moment of softness.
During a session, the practitioner uses light touch (or hands just above the body) to encourage the body’s natural return to balance.
How Anxiety Shows Up in Women’s Bodies
Women often carry stress differently.
It may show up as:
-
- Tight shoulders or neck tension
- Interrupted sleep
- A racing mind
- A constant feeling of being “on”
- Chest tightness or shallow breathing
- Emotional fatigue that doesn’t go away
When anxiety remains unprocessed, it can disrupt your inner rhythm — especially during reflective seasons like Women’s History Month, when so much rises to the surface.
A Client’s Story: Awakening to Self-Awareness
Not long ago, a client came to me feeling like her head was always spinning.
She described waking up each day with a knot of anxiety in her chest — no matter where she was:
-
- heading to work
- returning home
- even spending time with her son
She came to our session because she wanted more self-awareness and more clarity.
As we moved through the Reiki session, a wave of release began.
Her shoulders softened… and gradually, a deep realization surfaced:
The source of her anxiety was rooted in childhood — a constant pressure to prove herself to her parents. Always striving to be liked. Always people-pleasing.
Now, as she excelled in her career and tried to keep everything “in line” with her son, she felt trapped by that old narrative:
-
- carrying blame for other people’s mistakes
- trying to avoid anyone else’s disappointment
- holding herself to impossible standards
After the session, as these layers came to the surface, she felt a profound lightness.
She went home with a clearer mind — and as the days passed, more realizations emerged… each one freeing her a bit more.
Reiki as a Nervous System Reset
Reiki acts like a subtle whisper to your nervous system:
You are safe.
You are allowed to rest.
Especially for women balancing many demands, this gentle practice supports the parasympathetic nervous system — inviting your body to slow down, breathe, and reset.
It’s a reminder that even in a world that demands much… you are worthy of softness.
What to Expect During a Reiki Session
During a session, you’ll lie fully clothed on a massage table while the practitioner uses light touch or hovers their hands above the body.
This isn’t about fixing or forcing.
It’s about allowing your body to remember its calm.
Many women report feeling:
-
- lighter
- clearer
- emotionally softer
- more grounded
- more connected to themselves
Sometimes the shift is immediate.
Sometimes it unfolds over the next 24–72 hours.
Who Is Reiki For?
Reiki is for every woman who has ever felt overwhelmed by:
-
- the weight of expectations
- chronic stress
- emotional overload
- anxiety that won’t quiet down
- the pressure to “keep it together”
As we celebrate women’s achievements, we also reclaim our right to rest.
Integrating Reiki + The Return to Self Meditation
To deepen this journey, I invite you to join me for the Return to Self Guided Meditation, beginning March 8th.
This series is designed to help women ground, reflect, and realign as we step into this month of empowerment.
And if you feel called to go deeper, I also invite you to book a personal Reiki session.
After the meditation, you’ll have the chance to experience one-on-one support — where we’ll hold space for your nervous system to reset even further.
When you’re ready, you can sign up for the Return to Self Meditation series or book your Reiki session here:
